Dementors
Dementors are human-like creatures that stay
concealed under hooded robes. Their presence sucks the happiness out
of all nearby humans, causing their minds to fill with their most feared
thoughts of their life. Dementors have rotting, scabbed hands.
Azkaban Prison is mainly guarded by dementors.
It creates such a negative force in the air in the prison that some
prisoners go mad, and several have committed suicide.
Dementors can be held at bay with a
Patronus.
Death Kiss
The most feared attack by a dementor is called a
"death kiss". During a death kiss, a dementor will unhood himself to
reveal a grotesque face and very large mouth. The dementor will then
place his mouth over the victim's mouth and suck out his soul. The
"death kiss" is the most feared method of dying in the wizarding world.
